Web log analysis software
Web log analysis software is a simple type of Web analytics software based on the values contained in the log file, derives indicators about who, when and how a web server is visited. Usually reports are generated from log files immediately, but the log files can alternatively be analyzed in a database and reports generated on demand.
In early 1990, web site statistics consisted primarily of counting the number of client requests to a web server. However, with the introduction of images in HTML and web sites that stretched more HTML files, this count became less useful.
The first true commercial Log Analyzer was released by IPRO in 1994.
