XRCE - Xerox Research Center Europe
The European branch of Xerox global research, Xerox Research Centre Europe (XRCE) is a multidisciplinary organisation with experts in a broad spectrum of activities linked to information, data and documents. These range from understanding text and images, to the generation of new documents, through to the optimization of service processes combining both human and machine elements. Technical expertise is enriched with the knowledge gathered from the centre sociologists and ethnographers who develop a deep understanding of how people work. The result is innovative services and solutions that enhance customer work processes, improve productivity and help make businesses more sustainable.
Core competencies of the Xerox Research Centre Europe (XRCE) relevant to the GALATEAS project are multi-lingual morphological analysis, syntactic and semantic processing and discourse analysis. These activities are carried out by the "Parsing and Semantics" (ParSem) area.
Xerox is the administrative coordinator of the GALATEAS project and in charge of the technical development of linguistic tools and resources. Xerox also contributes to configuring the MOSES Machine Translation system.
